Baby E., his three year old brother, and his parents came to visit me today for his newborn shoot. Baby E is a fireball who came four weeks early, so at the shoot today he was about the size of a full term newborn, about seven pounds. I have to admit, I have a real soft spot in my heart taking pictures of brothers together, and I was happy that Big Brother O. was amicable to posing with Baby Brother E for me and the camera. Even if I did have to break out the sweethart candy bribes. Big welcome to Baby E and congratulations on the new addition to the family!

Meet Baby E. I love shots like this, because it shows you just how tiny they are at this moment, and they’re never going to be this tiny again. Here he is, cradled by daddy.

Giddy up, little cowboy

Such sweetness! I love just how peaceful he looks here.

Don’t let all the sleeping poses fool you, he was a tough cookie to get to stay asleep. But when he was asleep, you could just nom on his little nose.

This is my favorite brother pose. Big brother is all, what IS this in my lap? Baby E is all, hey, I’m cool, just chillin’ in my blanket which matches my eyes.

Big Brother wasn’t so sure about all this picture taking.

They were much happier outside, I even got a little smile!

The new family of four!

One of the wonderful things about living in this technological world is making friends with people both near and far from you. People with whom you may never have interacted with or been able to meet before, people who become friends who support you through the times of joy and the times of sorrow. One of these friendships I made through an online journaling group, and she recently had a baby which I was blessed to meet and photograph. Thank you for letting me capture this sweet moment of his life!

Meet Baby B, newest addition to the family!

Don’t let that first picture fool you, he was awake for most of the photoshoot, checking things out.

But when we did get him asleep, he was oh so sweet.

I call this his fighter pose. Check out the little fists!

I love getting pictures of mom and baby together. So often we’re behind the cameras, and don’t get to capture these moments with our kids.

Since he wasn’t sleeping, we took him outside and let him check out the world. Hello world!

We snuck in a picture or two with dad as well.

He still doesn’t look too sure about this “outside” concept

And a family shot as well

Baby L’s father and I are in book club together, and I was honored to be able to take pictures of his adorable baby girl.  She was soooooooo cute, had gorgeous eyes, and such a great sleepy model as well!  Her mom had some special baby jewelry which had been worn in the family for a few generations, which we were able to photograph Baby L. with to preserve the memories.  I’d never seen baby jewelry before, they were a tiny tiny bracelet and an even tinier ring that were just so adorable.  Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Meet {Baby L.}

The baby jewelry…you can just make out the teeny ring on her right hand

She had stellar eye contact for such a little one

Big yawn…I love the pink hat here as well

Who doesn’t love a baby in a lion’s hat?

Look at those lips!

I think she was telling us the photoshoot was over at this point :)

sleepy, sweet baby

I was able to photograph Miss L this past weekend.  Her mom is also a fabulous photographer, but everyone knows that it’s hardest to photograph your own children!  She was gracious enough to let me come up and play with her adorable baby.  In addition, we got to take advantage of the gorgeous autumnal colors we’ve been experiencing this fall.  They had a beautiful maple tree in their front yard which made for a splendid backdrop.  And it barely rained, it was a fantastic day for a photo session.  Here’s a peek at the results!
