I had such a fun time documenting this family last week. They wanted to take advantage of some of the beautiful scenery we have around our area, and also incorporate their new puppy into the family pictures as well. Oh, and their new seven month old puppy is a Great Dane, who I’m pretty sure is almost as big as me. čÖé I had a great time following the family around, running myself ragged while boy chased dog and vice versa, and also just capturing the family interaction. They were also super great in posing in fun and creative ways to bring out their personalities! I hope the pictures convey what a loving and great family they were, and how much they love each other and the outdoors.

Hello, Washington State!

Look at this kid, so handsome and smiley!

I’m not sure what I love more, the kid’s laugh in this picture, or the puppy’s smile, or the size of the stick the pup’s holding.

Boy, in portrait, and caught mid-run in sillouette.

What a handsome family I found in the forest.

Most of the time, we just hung around the park.

This was the most playful family, I just had the best time following them around and capturing them interacting with each other.

We’re lucky to live in an area where we have such amazing natural backdrops, such as these gorgeous evergreen trees.

STUB14_366webWM

Turning around, we have stunning mountains such as Mt. Rainier in the Cascades overlooking Lake Washington, as well.

Playful, fun, gorgeous and goofy, all rolled up into one picture! čÖé

It’s fall in the Pacific Northwest, and we’re incredibly lucky to be able to have access to beautiful trees, changing leaves, and water views of Lake Washington. All of which adds up to make for some gorgeous scenery. I met up with this fun family who had two high energy boys of their own for a photoshoot this past weekend. I was lucky enough to capture some shots of their lovely family, big brother hi jinks, little brother smiles, and some very sweet moments between mom, dad, and their sons. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek, as much as I enjoyed capturing these moments!

Little brother was all smiles. He gave me a workout, chasing him around for all those smiles!

Big brother giving me his best Blue Steel. Eat your heart out, Zoolander!

They got to burn some energy off at the playground.

Beautiful family, and a beautiful backdrop.

It was a gorgeous afternoon with just a dad, a little boy, and a big wide lake to themselves.

I loved this moment between dad and littlest son. It’s like he’s asking, where’d it go?

AGUI_373webWM

I love these candids with mom and her little boys as well. I especially love the way her oldest is looking at her. <3

Little brother had a grand time swinging and smiling.

I promise, I did not pose him. He came up with these all on his own. Aren’t they great? SO full of personality! I could have followed this kid around all day!

Thank you for letting me hang out and capture some sweet memories of your life!

My favorite subjects to photograph are hands down, kids. Especially siblings, in unguarded moments when they aren’t cheesing for the camera. ┬áThis brother and sister set was such fun to photograph, as the little brother built a bow from a stick and some string his mom scrounged up for him. ┬áSeeing them work together to create something, and the looks of intensity from both of them, and then the joy in playing with his new creation, was really exciting for me to capture. Thank you, P. family for coming out and letting me into this ┬ámoment of your life! Enjoy the pictures.

Sweet older sister and little brother.

Being a mom of boys, it’s always fun for me to photography a family of girls. This family has three girls, all with three different personalities. Not only were there three girls, but the two youngest are twins. The mother wanted some sibling shots, but I admit, my favorite thing was getting the girls one on one and letting their indivuality shine through to the camera. We had a quick mini-session outdoors at a local park, they brought their loveys, and overall had a wonderful time. Thanks for hanging out with me, W. family!

The oldest, aka Big Sister

Twin A had no problems posing for my camera. I call this one, Old Hollywood Glamour Stare. Look at those eyes!

Twin B was trying to convince me she had never heard of any superheroes. Here she is, totally pulling my leg (I was believing her until we got to Batman. Everyone’s heard of Batman!)

The younger twins, showing off their distinctive styles and smiles for me.

All three sisters, such sweeties!

I got one more chance to get all three of them together before the session was up.

No session is complete without at least one of mom in the picture, too!

Have you heard of the Buy Nothing project? They are community based groups (usually on Facebook) where, instead of throwing away or trashing stuff you don’t need, you donate it, or give it away to your local community. My local Buy Nothing community is so much more than that, though. It’s a community of people who give to those in need, who lead a helping hand, who create an atmosphere and environment where random acts of kindness and good deeds are done every day. It’s pretty special, I have to say, to be both on the receiving and giving end of the Buy Nothing community. It was within this community that I met this special family, who welcomed their new baby boy into their lives, Baby R. They excited came over to capture his first few days, complete with adorable props and some family mementos. I enjoyed meeting mom, dad, and Baby R., and hope that they enjoy the lovely photos!

Meet Baby R. His mom brought over the cute little crowns as props, aren’t they precious?

Beautiful momma and beautiful baby.

This sock monkey was handmade by great-grandma. I love it when families bring special toys like this.

RLNB_047webWM

We got some awake shots of him as well, here he is on a blanket also made by great-grandma.

Another cute crown. And look at those lips! So squishy!

Being held by dad, one of my favorite poses.

Welcome to the world, Baby R.! You are blessed and loved.
