My sister got married last week.  We are Vietnamese, so along with the western ceremony and reception,  she also had the traditional Vietnamese reception.  Twice as much bridal fun!  As the sister, I got to sit back and watch the action and ceremonies without having to be “on”.  The talented David Frank photographed my sister’s western wedding and reception, here are just some of my snapshots from the day.

My sister, the glowing bride!

Yes, my older son definately knows how to ham it up to the camera.

This picture is not technically great at all, being out of focus and blurry.  The sheer joy in my youngest son’s face makes up for all the technical flaws though.  :D

{Baby C} 9 days old – Seattle Area Newborn Photographer

July 20th, 2009

I had the pleasure of photographing Baby C at the ripe old age of nine days old.  She was a wee little thing, and such alertness in a newborn!  While I love sleeping newborn pictures, I think my favorites were when she was awake and her big eyes were taking in the world.  Here’s a [...]

cha_096web

Look at the eye contact in such a young baby!  And of course, she’s blowing me a raspberry as well

 cha_028web

she looks like a tiny little Queen here

So tiny, her parents’ wedding bands barely fit in her hand

I met with the extended {C Family} at a park in Woodinville to take pictures of four generations.  It was a real pleasure to meet everyone and get a chance to photograph them all together in one place for posterity.  The kids took a little while to warm up to my camera, and great-grandma was a little tired by the end of the shoot but she was still a good sport about all the posing.  Here are their pictures!

I photographed Miss E and her family last fall, and her mom brought her back to me to capture her in her 18 month glory.  We met at one of my favorite local parks, Bothell Landing.  Let me tell you, this girl had me running the entire photoshoot just to catch up with her!  Miss E.  did not slow down for an instance, and I definately had to pull all my tricks to get her to look at me and the camera.  Fortunately, mom came along with some relatives who also did a great job in getting Miss E to look towards the camera.  She was a very serious toddler, but I did capture a couple of smiles on camera.  Here’s a sneak peek at Miss E’s photo shoot!

Meet {Miss E.}

See how her feet are posed to run?

 emi_099web

She had just so much fun walking and running around the park

 emi_313web

Aha camera lady, you’ll never catch me!

 emi_310webbw

A quiet, serious moment

 emi_255webbw

From serious to happy in 0.2 seconds!

 emi_257webbw

The expression she’s giving the camera just cracks me up here

emi_259web

She posed herself and I was thankful she was still enough for me to fire off some shots

 emi_273web

Still trepidatious about the camera I was holding in front of her all the time

 emi_222web

This was a run-by smile

 emi_231web

Look!  A shot where her feet were completely still

 emi_194web

Such an adorable face!

 emi_191web

And lastly, smiles with mommy

I had the pleasuring of meeting this family at Lincoln Park  in West Seattle for our photoshoot.  The mom had graciously responded to my inquiry about photographing her twin daughters for my portfolio.  I’m still working on building my skills in photographing siblings, and these cute one year old sisters gave me a run for my money!  Lincoln Park is a beautiful location, so we let the kids run around and I snapped away as many shots of them together as I could.  I was kicking myself as I got to the park as I realized I had forgotten my bag of toys, whistles, and snacks to entice the kids to look at my camera at home!  Alas, a lesson well learned.  Here’s a sneak peek of their photos.

Meet {Miss D} and {Miss E}.  Don’t let this fool you, they rarely both looked at the camera at the same time for me.

I think she was lecturing me here

Almost a smile

hut_033web

A rare shot of the twins with their older sister

hut_023web

Most of my shots of the girls looked like this, with neither of them looking at me

hut_053web

I convinced them to play peek a boo behind the log with me

hut_056web

Their mom bribed them to sit still with snack foods.  I have a lot of shots with one of them eating.  :)

A sweet moment with mom

When babies attack!

We headed to the playground area of the park to see if we could get more shots with both of them.

Smiley girls!

They were entranced by the ferries

Happy in mom’s lap

hut_231webbw

Goodbye, and thanks for the smiles!
